1tablespoonschili paste (adjust based on desired heat level)
1tablespoonsoy sauce
1teaspoontoasted sesame oil
0.5teaspoonsea salt
1tablespoonsesame seeds
to tastechopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
If using frozen edamame, follow the package instructions to cook until tender, then drain and set aside. If you have fresh edamame, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pods for about 5-6 minutes or until they become tender but still bright green. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, pour in the olive oil and heat over medium heat. Wait until the oil shimmers, then add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden. Be cautious not to let it burn as this will affect the dish's flavor.
Once the garlic is aromatic, stir in the chili paste and soy sauce. Mix well to create a rich, spicy garlic sauce that will envelop the edamame.
Add the cooked edamame pods to the skillet. Toss the edamame in the sauce, ensuring they are well-coated. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to develop and the edamame to absorb the spicy sauce.
Drizzle the toasted sesame oil over the edamame, sprinkle with sea salt, and give everything a final toss to combine all the ingredients evenly.
Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the fiery garlic edamame to a decorative serving bowl.
If desired, garnish the dish with sesame seeds and a sprinkle of chopped green onions to add color and a fresh touch.
Notes
Serve warm and provide small plates for guests to discard the pods.
